Daddy Daughter Day

Since Drew had already had Monday-Thursday off, he figured he'd just make it a whole week! So he had Friday off as well!! Which was perfect because now he got to spend some time with Bellamy after not seeing for a while!

Anytime Drew or I have off and we get to spend the day with Miss B, we snap pictures of our day! Here she is first thing in the morning!

Next up is breakfast...

Working that spoon...

Strumming the guitar...

Snack time with Harry the Bunny...

Trying to squeeze into her baby doll stroller...

And then getting mad at daddy for not pushing her in it!

They sure did have a ball! And I enjoyed getting pictures at work!

I'm All Alone!

So the week after the incident, Drew had a business trip in Nashville. How was I going to survive?!?! At this point, I was still using crutches, not daring to walk in just my boot. To make it a little easier on me, we had decided that Bellamy and I would go stay with Ms. Nancy for the week while Mr. Lee went with Drew.

The Friday before he had to leave, I figured I'd better learn to walk again. So I did just that! And by the time they got home, I met them outside...SANS CRUTCHES!! I was so excited! I was a little slow, but at least now my armpits could get a break!

That Sunday, we packed our bags and headed up Tallahassee. As I was driving up I remembered this suitcase I had as a child. So I found one online, snapped a picture, and let my sisters enjoy my reminiscing as well!

Needless to say, this didn't work out! Bellamy had a hard time adjusting that first night there, so I decided we were going home. TROPICAL STORM DEBBY AND ALL!! Not fun, by the way, trying to unload an 18 month old, get your food from the car, and unload your suitcase with enough clothes for a week...all when it's pouring down rain and when you are working with ONE good foot!! Oh well, we managed!

So here are a few shots of of mine and Bellamy's week together! First up is her helping me fold the clothes...in her own little way!

Here we are posing for daddy!

Showing daddy what a good eater she is!

This is a fun spot for B. When there's boxes on the floor that need to be recycled, she just climbs on in! Guess she thinks I'm supposed to pull her around!

Here she is giving Mommy the "sweet eye"!! I was giving her the stink eye while she was eating and she thought that was the funniest thing, so she gave it a try! But her's were too cute to be called stink eye!

I guess I need to workout more in front of her, so that she knows how to use these things!

So those were all the pictures I sent Drew, so now for the pictures he sent us! Some of these are inside jokes, but I'll try to explain!

Here he is being "good" at dinner by ordering a salad!

Here are a few city shots of Nashville and some views from their hotel room...

Here are the joke pictures. Drew tries so hard to be redneck, but we all know he's just a city boy! So he pulls out his "redneck voice" sometimes and we both get a good chuckle!

And what do you get somebody that has EVERYTHING?! Why, a belly button lint brush, of course!!!

They didn't get out in time to go into the temple for a session, so a picture at the entrance was we got!

They sure did have fun in Nashville and Bellamy and I had fun in Crawfordville! but all good things must come to an end...and I was glad! I was glad to finally get some help/relief around the house...and to have Drew home too!

Pops Pics

As I try my darnedest to catch up, please bear with me! Here are some shots Pop got of my little angel!

Here she is doing what she does best...relaxing in the swing!

Next up we have her working! While Pop was showing houses to Lyle and Amber, Bellamy tagged along! Here she is with Lyle. Not sure what to make of that face!

Sometime later, he captured her swimming in her pool! When she's here...she's in heaven!! And nothing can bother her...unless you try to take her out when she's not ready. Then, BEWARE. Her Momma's attitude sure does shine through at that point!

If she's not in a swing, her rocking chair is her next favorite place! She climbs up there like she owns the place!

Sure am grateful for all my updates throughout the day! It helps make it just a tiiiiiinnnnnny bit easier!

The Next Day...

So the journey continued into the next day. I had to call into work because I had a doctors appointment in the morning and had to go run a few other errands. Plus the pain was so horrible that I wouldn't have been able to do much anyway. So off we went!

We started out at the orthopedics shop so I could get my oh-so-fashionable shoe that I would wear for the next 4-6 weeks! Yuck...no more heels for me for a while! While we were waiting, I snapped a few pictures of Bellamy...because what is a post without pictures of my little Princess?!?!

After we got finished there, I forget where we went! The whole day was a blur so forgive me! I know we ended up at the DMV so I could get a handicap sticker (Whoo-Hoo!!), which was a nightmare in and of itself! Thankfully it didn't take long, but at this point it was already after lunch and I had NO pain medicine on me!

So we finally headed home and the phone rings. It's Urgent Care and they want me to go to TOC to get a second opinion. So we turn around and head back into town for my appointment with them.

Finally after much waiting, we were seen, got confirmation that it was indeed broken, and then sent on our way. We headed back to pick up Bellamy from the Vass' and attempted to head home again! Thankfully this one was a success and we made it home!

HELLO ICE, REST, and ELEVATION!! My new best friends for the time being!

Happy (HORRIBLE!) Fathers Day!

I would have to say that this has to be the WORST Father's Day...EVER...probably even in history! So let's recap!

Our morning started out perfect! We decided to go to church in 2nd Ward, so we were able to sleep in a bit! Once Bellamy got up, we got our present ready for Daddy. She was super excited!

So she helped him open his card and then they moved on to his present. She's really gotten into climbing, so we propped her up on the coffee table and let her watch from there.

We ended up getting Drew a digital picture frame for his office! He loved it!! I even took the time to load it with about 150 pictures from birth to present! It was a beast of a task...but I don't half-do anything! So I took the challenge! Here they are posing with his gift!

Not the best picture in the world, but by this point Bellamy was done!

Now to the good stuff! After we opened presents we started getting ready for church. After I did, or tried to do, my makeup, I realized how BAD my eyes really looked! See, what happened was this. Saturday I went and got a haircut and ended up getting my eyebrows waxed. I guess the wax was too hot or something because I broke out! It looked like Drew had "given me 5 of these" across both eyes! So I took a picture and sent it out to my sisters! And now I TOTALLY can't believe I'm posting it on my blog, but here goes!

Yeah, it was bad. I digress. So we finally get to church. I get out and get Bellamy dressed because I didn't want her dress to wrinkle on the car ride up! After we get everybody ready, we head in. I'm holding Bellamy and my small diaper bag. As we walk into the backside of the 2nd Ward building, the unthinkable happens. I get down to the second step and my heel gets caught between the "safety strip" and the concrete...and down we go. We jump about three steps and land on the ground. I immediately get up, only worried about Bellamy. After doing a look over and trying to calm her down, I realize she's fine and she's just got some scrapped up knuckles. And tears...LOTS of tears. As I try to put my shoe back on I realize how much pain I'm really in...TONS. So I get it on and we walk inside. As we're singing the sacrament hymn I decided that I couldn't "just stick it out" like I wanted to. So I get Drew and we leave. Thankfully Pop was there and said he would keep Bellamy, because at this point we were going to Urgent Care (UC).

As we headed to UC all I could think of is what a big baby I was being. I was secretly hoping that something was wrong so I would be justified! So we get checked in and they roll me in, in a wheelchair...talk about kicking me when I'm down! As we were waiting to see the doctor, Drew thought he would have a little "fun".

Clearly this was NOT the time for pictures, but I humored him...it was Father's Day after all. When the doctor finally came in, he looked, poked, rubbed (everything painful), and then sent me off for an X-ray. Yet again, Drew thought this was the appropriate time for pictures.

Once the X-ray was complete, we headed back to the room. Shortly the doctor came in with the results...a BROKEN 4th metatarsal (silently I cheered because then I didn't feel like SUCH a baby!). Now was the time for pictures!! So Drew came through for me!

After getting strict instructions of resting, icing, and elevating we checked out. When we were finally able to leave, they wheeled me out and loaded me back in the car! Thankfully they just wrapped it and I didn't have to hard cast it!

Finally we were able to go pick up our precious baby! Walking was out of the picture for me, so Drew had to carry me. I DON'T DO THAT! But this time I had no other option!

As we were leaving Drew decided he needed a picture with his dad so we snapped a few of those! And Pop was even wearing his Father's Day present from Bellamy...look closely!

So mark this down for the Vass'...worst Father's Day ever! Memorable, but very bad! Hopefully Drew enjoyed what little bit of a Father's Day he got that morning! I'm gonna try and make it up to him...after I get this boot off in about 5 weeks!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY! WE LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!
