Play Time

Every since Bellamy has learned to roll over, she loves to be on the floor...

Or in the back of a car...she's not picky!

Hittin' the Park

We have discovered that Bellamy loves being outside!  If she is fussing just to fuss, we have found that if we take her outside, she immediately calms down.  I don't know if it's just that the sun is so bright that she has to squint/close her eye and stop crying or if she just likes it...but whatever works, we do it!

We have a small park in Crawfordville that we like to go walking at.  We just throw Bellamy in the stroller and start making our rounds!  Sometimes we find it hard to make one full lap without having to stop and let people look!  They all comment about how cute and big she looks...and I couldn't agree more!

Do They Just Follow Him?!?!

You may remember this picture..
The next weekend or so, Drew sent me this picture of him rescuing a turtle while in Georgia...
Then last weekend as I was changing Bellamy, he walks in with this...
Hence my question...do they just follow him?!?!  Is he really the "Turtle Whisperer"?!?!

Musician In The Making!

I love the mornings around our house.  I get up, get myself ready, get Bellamy dressed and fed, then we all get to spend a few mintues together before we start our day.  The other morning we let Bellamy play on the floor and Drew decided he would get his guitar and play some music for her.  He has done this before, but she was younger and didn't really know what was going on.  As soon as he started playing, she immediately looked at him and started kicking!  After he played for a few minutes, he let her "play" too!

Men...

They just don't understand!  As we were leaving Rhett and Leena's, we crossed the railroad tracks and Drew (Mr. Nature himself!) spotted a dead RATTLESNAKE.  He stopped the car and put it in reverse to get a better look...or so I thought!  The next thing I know, he is looking for something to put it in...as in to take it home...SERIOUS??  So he finds an old Hungry Howies pizza box and puts it in there and goes to put it in the car.  I thought we were about to have a knock down drag out...I was determined that he was not going to put that snake in my car, with my baby in the back seat...somebody better get the cops on the phone!!

He proceeds to reassure me that it's dead and that all he really wants is the rattles because allegedly you rarely see a rattlesnake with it's rattles still attached.  I don't know.  Anyway, so we head back down to Rhett's house to find something that will hack this thing to pieces.  While we're there, we grabbed the kids and headed up the road.  They all enjoyed seeing the snake and learning about how to be safe around them!

Once we got back down to the house, Helaman asked if he could keep the rattles and Drew said he could if his mom and dad said it was ok.  Of course Rhett said it was fine, but I'm sure Leen wasn't too happy (I wouldn't have been either)...sorry Leena!!

Celebrity...

This is what Bellamy is when she goes to visit her friends and family!  Especially with her little cousins!  They all want to hold and play with her...which totally melts my heart to see how much she is loved! A few Saturday's ago we dropped by to visit Rhett and Leena and it was no different...Olivia was right there the whole time!  Such a sweet scene!

Big Girl

Well, we finally did it...we moved Bellamy to her pack-and-play to sleep!  Since she was born, she had been sleeping in her swing, then she moved to her bouncer, then back to the swing where she had been for quiet some time.  The other night (really, this was back in March!), we decided it was time to move her to her pack-and-play so that she could stretch out and not be all slumped over when she slept.  We were really nervous at first, but since she was rolling over, we felt it was time.  So we put her in her nightgown and started out nightly routine!

The first night, she ended up doing really good!  She fell asleep around 9:15pm and went down without a fight!  When we finally made it to bed around 11:00, she was still sleeping sound as a rock...but...being a first time mom, I freaked!  I grabbed her up and put her in her swing because I was just too scared!

FYI...now Bellamy is completely and fully sleeping in her pack-and-play and there is no turning back!  Next we will venture out and move her to her crib!!  What a big girl she is turning out to be!

Me Tarzan...Bellamy Jane

Over the last week or so, Bellamy has definitely found her voice!  She used to sit there and just coo, but now she demands to be heard!  The other day between Conference sessions, we let Bellamy play on the floor, as we usually do, and she wanted to make sure she had our attention!  This is only a blip of the whole video...boy does this girl have some pipes!

Thanks Aunt Leena for the ducky...she loves it!

On a Mission

As I mentioned before, Drew LOVES turtles...therefore Bellamy has no choice but to love them as well!  The other day we went to Bristol to see our Grandpa.  As we were inside waiting on Meris to get there, she comes in and tells Drew that she saw a turtle in the middle of the road, just outside the house.  So of course, Drew gets Bellamy and they all go outside to rescue the turtle!  Mission accomplished!

Teething?

Bellamy has been drooling soo much these past couple of weeks, that it got me thinking that she may be teething.  I've ran my finger along her gums and haven't felt anything, so I'm not quiet sure of the reason for all the drool!  Anyway...we were playing on the floor one day and, since she likes to suck on her hands, I thought she may like some sort of teething ring to soothe her.  I ran to the freezer, grabbed a teether, and let her go to town.  She did really good with; picking it up, staring at it, sucking on it, until she dropped it on her face!  I promise I did not place it here...she did it on her own!
This didn't last long, only long enough for me to snap a picture and then she went to screaming!

Jealous?...

I sure was!  The other day Drew was up in Tallahassee working so he decided to call his Dad and have lunch with him, Bellamy, and Uncle Chris.  He snapped this picture and sent it to me...how I wish I was there!

Hello Daddy

The other morning Drew got called out to work and missed seeing Bellamy all dressed up and ready for the day, so I decided to snap a picture and let him see what he was missing out on!
Yes, I know...I tried a "bow" again!  It worked for a little while, but by the time we got to Nana and Pop's house, it was over her eyes!  But either way, she looked so cute!

Sunday Best

I just love the fact that I have a little girl, probably because I get to dress her up in tons of cute clothes!  I love shopping for her clothes, but I hate spending so much money on something that she will only get to wear a few times before she grows out of them.  Lucky for me, I get a lot of hand-me-downs from Bellamy's well-dressed cousins!  This is one of her recently acquired dresses from Aunt Meris...doesn't she just look darling?!

Rockin' Out

As you've probably noticed in previous post, Bellamy LOVES. HER. FINGERS.  Sometimes it's just her thumb, or 3 fingers, or sometimes she just likes to rock out!

Just Precious...

Not that I'm biased or anything!  But come on...just look at that face!  This precious photo-op is courtesy of Meris.  Thanks Meris...keep'em coming!

Bumbo Time!

The other day we were sitting on the couch playing with Bellamy.  I needed to run grab something so I asked Drew to hold her.  He wanted to take a picture of her, of course (!), so suggested I lay her up against the couch.  After that, we immediately thought of the Bumbo!  I thought to myself that there was no way she would be able to hold her head up and sit straight in it, but this girl has been holding her up since day 1!  So we grabbed it, and the rest is history!
