St. Marks

A couple of Saturday's ago we got a wild hair and decided to head out to St. Marks.  So we all got dressed and out the door we went!

Right when we got there we went and toured the visitor's center.  Bellamy loved "talking on the phone" (listening to the messages about the animals!), looking at the books and other toys, and just pretty much running around.  Thankfully there wasn't a lot of people there, so she wasn't much of a bother!  As we got there, one of the workers told us that there were baby alligators out back, so we should be sure to check them out.  We did...but Bellamy wanted nothing to do with them!  All she wanted to do was run around and around the dock!
I love this picture, but she just looks too big!  Next up we headed over to the other little center that they have there.  It'seems it's mostly used for class field trips and a learning center, but they have a nice semi-wrap-around deck, so we headed over to check that out too!  First we tried to get Bellamy to pose with each of us.  Getting her to sit still long enough for a semi-decent picture is hard to come by these days!
Next we tried to get her to pose by herself.  That was fun...

All she wanted to do was get up and run!  Next we went down to the water.  We found a baby gator and ended up getting about 5 feet from it!  She wanted NOTHING to do with it...NOTHING!
She just ate her goldfish without a care in the world!  As we were going back to the car we saw this pretty butterfly sign.  I tried to get her to flap her wings like a butterfly, but she just looked at me like I was crazy!
Next up we headed down to the lighthouse.  That thing is beautiful...and monstrous!

As we were running around down by the water, we spotted a ton of crabs!  Bellamy just had to hold one!  If you look in the small picture, you can see all the crabs trying to run away from her!
But apparently holding a crab with daddy wasn't good enough for her...she wanted her own!
The whole time she was holding it, Drew kept telling her not to squeeze it, which seemed to only make her squeeze harder...and try to take it out of our sight!

We sure had a blast, but were all so tired when we got home!  And hot, boy was it hot!  But it was worth it!
